๐ŸŽž How to create a simple Cover Video using Canva ๐ŸŽž

Updated: Jan 31, 2020

We recently created a simple Cover Video for Smart Social on Facebook using Canva (primarily).

Never heard of Canva?

๐—–๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜ƒ๐—ฎ is a website and app loaded with enough easy-to-use features and functionality that anyone can use to design beautiful graphics, create logos, make videos and GIFs, and a lot more. It is one of the most-favoured tools amongst social media professionals. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ’ป

๐—œ๐˜€ ๐—ถ๐˜ ๐—™๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ? Yes, you can use Canva for free, and it is good enough.

Some of the more advanced and more popular features are, however, only available in its paid ๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป, including the ability to:

๐ŸŒŸ Make animations/GIFs - what we used for this cover video

๐ŸŒŸ Download designs with transparent background - this is essential when, for example, you want to be able to stick your logo on any graphic after it's been created on Canva.

๐ŸŒŸ Collaborate and share designs easily with your team.

Meanwhile, you also get access to more and better-designed stock images and layouts/templates with Canva Pro. You can learn more about Canva here: https://about.canva.com/

Now, if you are in the Pro version, here are the steps you take to create an animated/GIF video:

๐ŸŽจ Create your designs on Canva, so choose the background, pick the photo, the font, the colours and etc.

๐Ÿงฉ Put your designs in the order as to how you'd like the animations to run.

โฌ‡๏ธ Hit "Download", from the drop-down menu, choose "Animation" for File Type, pick your Animation Style, and download as Video!

โš ๏ธ Be noted, on Canva you can only apply one animation style. The same style is then be used throughout your entire designs. If you'd like different transitions in-between different scenes, you will need to use other video-editing tools, like iMovie that we used, in which case you will need to download each scene separately with your desired animation style, and then link them up using iMovie.

Now you have learned how to make animated/GIF videos on Canva, why not put it to practice yourself?

Remember to tag us if you share it on your social media channels. We'd love to see them and support you with loads of ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ
