🤔 What to talk about on social media other than your own business offerings? 🤔

Updated: Jan 31, 2020

I often get asked by businesses new to social media "What else can I talk about on social media other than my own services/products?"

Does it speak for you as well? Don't worry. I have got you a 'cheat sheet' of ideas that might just do for one of those 'no idea what to say' days 😉

Ready? 👇

🗓 Awareness Days:

A good website https://www.awarenessdays.com/awareness-days-calendar/ to refer to for trending events/topics expected in the month that you can use to initiate a conversation with your audience. Make sure the topic you pick is relevant to your business and is what your audience is likely to be interested in.

👀 Behind-the-Scene Stories:

People love to hear and ideally watch what is happening behind your business' front stage. So when possible, why not make your audience feel 'privileged" by giving 'exclusive' access to those behind-the-scene moments?

💡 Tips and Advice:

Show your audience that you know their 'pain' and are here to support. A good choice when you want to establish your business as 'the expert' in the field.

#️⃣ Follow Trending Hashtags on Twitter & Instagram.

Also don't forget, you can Recycle ♻️ your previous successfully content on Twitter.

❓Just Ask the Question:

Don't be afraid to simply ask your audience "What do you want to hear about from us?" In my experience, people are generally happy to help.

✅ Run a Poll:

Believe it or not, people love polls. Every single poll that I have run has had good engagement. So try it yourself.

👍 Share a Testimonial:

Word-of-mouth content is always well received.

☕️ Share a Personal Moment:

" I am enjoying a nice cup of coffee just after ____, what are you up to now?"

People are more likely to engage with a brand to which they feel they can relate on a personal level.

❤️ Special Occasions:

Business anniversary is approaching, or you are achieving a particular milestone? Shout about it!

💫 Positive Vibes:

We all love positivity, so find some inspiring quotes to share. You can even ask your audience to share back which will then make great user-generated content (UTC) that your business can always refer to in the future.

🐶 Everyone loves a DOG!

An all-time win. In the worst case, have one of those cuties 'visit' you/your office, then everyone will be on their way to watch! 😍
